I am a Public Health Medicine specialist with over 40 years of teaching, research and activism in Public Health. Currently, I am the Chair of the DUT Covid-19 Response Task Team and academic coordinator of the Doctoral Mentoring Programme (DMP) at DUT. My presentation at SASUF 2024, focusses on Health Promoting Universities ready for Pandemic Prepardness of Emerging and Reimerging infections; inclduing behaviour change for Non-Communicable Diseases and using the Inner Development Goals (IDG) to promote the SDG's. These IDG are critical for transformation of academic institutions and for developing a resilient R&D agenda.
